Doris served as one of the main organizers of the Austrian 3R Days at Vetmeduni, helping deliver a vibrant meeting with 280 participants. The event was opened by Minister Eva-Maria Holzleitner, the vice rectors for research from Vetmeduni and Med Uni Graz, Martina Marchetti-Deschmann and Akos Heinemann, Birgit Reininger-Gutmann (Med Uni Graz) and Semmelweis professor Doris Wiflingseder, setting the stage for lively exchange across all 3Rs with a strong focus on NAMs.

Highlights:

  • Creative Poster Slam: 51 posters in one hourโ€”presenters sang, staged miniโ€‘theater pieces, or turned their work into poemsโ€”building buzz ahead of the poster walk.
  • Ignaz Semmelweis Session on Infectiology: chaired by Subhra K. Biswas, showcasing an interactive exchange among Semmelweis professors.
  • Strong NAMs presence: numerous contributions advancing new approach methodologies and their practical implementation.
  • Crossโ€‘community dialogue: active networking among academia, industry, and regulators around Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement.

Thanks to the organizing team for making the Austrian 3R Days 2026 a dynamic platform for humane, innovative research.
