On 9 September, we welcomed flavivirus expert Ashley St. John as a speaker of the Semmelweis Seminar Series in the Jugendstilhörsaal. Her talk, “Flavivirus immune history as a determinant of future viral infection outcomes,” highlighted how previous exposure to flaviviruses such as dengue, Japanese encephalitis, and Zika can shape long-term immune responses and affect subsequent viral infections.
