Ignaz Semmelweis Institute gains access to new technology for fully human antibody development

The Ignaz Semmelweis Institute has gained access to Nona Biosciencesโ€™ H2L2 Harbour Mice technology through a licence agreement concluded by the Medical University of Vienna.

The technology is based on genetically modified mice that generate antibodies with fully human structures following immunisation. It will expand the Instituteโ€™s capabilities in antibody research and enable researchers to generate and further develop fully human antibodies against relevant biological targets, including viral proteins.

The new technology will support ongoing research in infectious diseases and antibody development and provide an additional tool for the development of antiviral therapies. It will also contribute to research aimed at improving preparedness for future pandemics.
