February Semmelweis Seminar with Martin Schwemmle on “Decoding Pandemic Influenza Viruses”

On 18 February, we welcomed Martin Schwemmle as a speaker of the Semmelweis Seminar Series at CeMM. His talk focused on “Decoding Pandemic Influenza Viruses,” providing valuable insights into how zoonotic influenza A viruses adapt to overcome host innate immune barriers. In particular, he highlighted that the interferon-induced antiviral factor MxA provides protection against zoonotic influenza A viruses.
