Clinical aspects of Hantavirus Infections

Hantaviruses are the etiological agent of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) and hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndrome (HCPS). In Europe, Puumala orthohantavirus (PUUV) is the primary etiological agent of nephropathia epidemica (NE), a milder form of HFRS. In the presentation, clinical aspects of Hanta virus infections including epidemiology, clinical presentation, complications, diagnosis and (supportive) treatment will be covered.
